AmCham MENA Council Agro-food Business Committee meets in Amman (November 10,2009) 

AmCham MENA Regional Council members met in Amman, on November 10th, to launch the first MENA Council sector specific committee-The Agro Food Committee whose mission is to improve the links between the US and the MENA region in the Agro food business.

The Committee is chaired by Mr. Arslan Sinno, Vice President, Membership, AmCham Lebanon and President of Dora Flour Mills SAL & ZM Vegetable Oils Industries SAL.

The Committee has the following goals:

• To work on promoting the region’s agro-food market, initiating joint venture partnerships and open markets on both sides in the agro food sector.
• Act as a regional lobbying group to work on having a unified legislation system with regards to the Agro-food business. Develop a common approach to regularity systems in the region and update regulations.
• Seek the technical expertise of the U.S. to improve the sector’s productivity.
• Become a resource on market intelligence on the sector in the region.
